Omega Tile Adhesive
Veromaxx Omega is a highly polymer-modified cement-based tile adhesive engineered for the demanding installation of large tiles and stone cladding on both indoor and outdoor surfaces. Classified as Type 3 T (C2 TE) under IS 15477 and EN 12004, Omega combines the extended open time needed for large-tile installation workflows with the thick-bed application capability (10-15mm) that uneven cladding substrates typically require. When your project involves large-format tiles, stone cladding, external wall installations or thick-bed application, Omega is the correct specification.
What is Veromaxx Omega Tile Adhesive?
Veromaxx Omega is a Type 3 (Class C2 TE) highly polymer-modified cementitious tile adhesive – one classification step above Alpha, engineered specifically for large-tile and stone-cladding applications. The “E” in the C2 TE classification denotes extended open time – Omega gives applicators 30+ minutes to place and adjust tiles after adhesive application, essential when working with large-format tiles or stone cladding pieces that take longer to position accurately.
Omega is the correct specification when your project involves tiles or stones larger than 600×600mm, natural stone cladding, external wall tile work above 3-4 storeys, or any installation requiring thick-bed application (10-15mm) to accommodate uneven substrate conditions.
Stronger Than Traditional Cement Mortar
It is the specification of choice for premium façade cladding, commercial building elevations, and large-format vitrified installations up to 600×1200mm.

How to Mix & Apply Veromaxx Alpha
Follow this verified 4-step execution protocol to ensure a 100% void-free ceramic floor installation.
Cladding walls or floors must be structurally sound, clean, and free of dust, oil, curing compounds, laitance and loose material. On external cladding, ensure the substrate is not saturated. Prime porous substrates if specified. Verify substrate load capacity for stone cladding installations.
Measure clean water into a clean bucket at 25-28% by weight of powder (approximately 5-5.5 litres per 20kg bag). Add Veromaxx Alpha powder gradually while mixing with a low-speed drill and paddle.
Mix until a smooth, lump-free, non-slumping paste is achieved. Let stand for 5-10 minutes for full polymer activation, then re-mix briefly before use.
Apply the adhesive to the substrate using a 12mm or 15mm notched trowel held at 60°. For very uneven substrates, apply a scratch coat first then a full bed. Cover only the area you can tile within the 30-minute extended open time.
Back-butter every tile and every stone panel - apply a thin, even layer of adhesive to the tile/stone back. Press the tile firmly into the wall or floor adhesive bed with a twisting motion to collapse the ribs and achieve full 100% contact. Check back coverage on the first few tiles by lifting and inspecting.
For external cladding, install mechanical fixings (anchors, cramps, or clips) per structural engineer specification as an additional safety measure - adhesive alone is not adequate for façade tile retention on tall buildings
Adjust tile position within the 20-30 minute adjustment time. Use tile spacers and check alignment regularly. Remove excess adhesive from faces and joints before it sets. Do not grout for at least 24 hours. Protect external installations from rain for the first 24 hours.

Why Choose Veromaxx Omega Tile Adhesive?
Omega is the specification for tile installations where the standard Type 2 grade is not enough – large tiles above 600×600mm, stone cladding, external wall tile work, uneven substrates requiring thick-bed application, or premium projects where extended open time gives applicators the working window they need. Type 3 T (C2 TE) is the classification serious cladding contractors and premium project specifiers reach for when the installation has to hold up under thermal cycling, weathering, and long service life expectations.

FAQs About Veromaxx Omega Tile Adhesive
Find answers to all your questions about our products, and applications.
What is the difference between Alpha and Omega?
Alpha is Type 2 T (C2 T) – standard-grade for indoor and outdoor tile installation up to 600×1200mm, 5-10mm bed thickness, standard open time. Omega is Type 3 T (C2 TE) – HIGHLY polymer-modified with extended open time (E rating) and thick-bed capability (10-15mm), engineered specifically for large tiles, stone cladding and uneven substrates. Choose Omega when the project involves stone cladding, external wall work above 3-4 storeys, uneven substrates, or large-tile installations where extended open time helps productivity.
Can Omega be used for external façade cladding?
Yes, this is one of Omega’s primary applications. Type 3 T (C2 TE) is the correct specification for external wall cladding with tiles and stones. However, for tall building façades (typically above 4-5 storeys), building codes usually require mechanical fixings (anchors, clips) in addition to adhesive – Omega is used in combination with mechanical fixings, not as a sole retention system. For heavy stone cladding at significant height, consider Veromaxx Quantum with its deformable formulation.
Why is Omega's bed thickness 10-15mm instead of 5-10mm?
The thick-bed capability accommodates uneven substrates typical of external cladding walls and old renovation surfaces. Rather than pre-levelling a wall with plaster before tile fixing, Omega’s thicker bed allows the adhesive to fill and level substrate irregularities in one operation. This saves time and labour on cladding installations where perfectly flat substrates are rare.
Is Omega suitable for marble and natural stone?
Yes. Omega is the specification of choice for marble and natural stone cladding installations up to 600×1200mm. The highly polymer-modified formulation delivers reliable bond to non-porous stone surfaces, and the extended open time gives applicators the working window needed to position stone panels accurately. For very heavy or oversized stone panels, use Veromaxx Quantum.
What does the "E" in C2 TE mean?
The “E” designation stands for Extended open time – minimum 30 minutes per EN 12004, versus 20 minutes for standard adhesives. Extended open time is essential when working with large tiles or stone panels that take longer to position, or in hot weather when standard open time can be too short for accurate placement.
How much Omega do I need for cladding work?
At 10mm bed thickness with back-buttering (standard for cladding), budget 10-11 kg per m² of installation area. At 15mm bed thickness on very uneven substrates, budget 13-15 kg per m². Add 15-20% waste allowance for cladding projects — cutting waste on tile faces and irregular surfaces increases material consumption.
Can I use Omega indoors?
Yes. Omega’s Type 3 specification works equally well indoors and outdoors. It is particularly well-suited for premium indoor projects with large-format tiles (hotel lobbies, retail flagship stores, showrooms), large marble or stone installations, or renovations with uneven substrates. For standard indoor tile installation up to 600×1200mm, Alpha is more economical.
Do I need mechanical fixings for external cladding with Omega?
For low-rise external cladding (up to 3-4 storeys), Omega alone typically provides adequate retention when properly applied with full back coverage. For taller buildings, follow local building codes and structural engineer specifications – most codes require mechanical fixings (cramps, anchors, or clips) as a safety backup for façade tile retention on tall structures. Adhesive-only façade installation at height carries safety and liability risks.
